Artistic work

Any visual representation such as a painting, a sculpture, a drawing (including a diagram, map, chart or plan), an engraving or a photograph, whether or not any such work possesses artistic quality, work of architecture or an artistic work of craftsmanship. In Associated Publishers v. Bashyam, the court held that a portrait based on two photographs could become the subject of copyright if it is original, and produced a result different from the photographs.
