Automatic Rights

These rights come into effect at the moment of creation. No official registration is necessary to protect these IP rights. In India, copyright and circuit layout rights are automatic rights. In Kumari Kanaka v. Sundara Rajan, the court held that registration of copyright is not required either for acquiring copyright or its infringement.
